How do you know who can work?
The team enters availability in their own app, a week ahead. The rota proposes only people who are available — and shows you when there is nobody left to choose from.
A shift has to be confirmed by the employee. That is what stops “I didn’t know I was on” being an argument, and it leaves you a record of who confirmed and when.
Does this replace payroll?
No. Owlly computes hours and labour cost operationally — for the staffing decision. Payroll, social insurance and contracts stay with your accountant, who receives an hours-per-person summary for the period.
Attendance corrections go to approval, showing what the employee reported and what the record shows. Two corrections a week is normal; twenty is a signal that the rota has come loose from reality.

01Can staff see each other’s pay rates?
No. In the staff app each person sees their own shift, their own hours and their own pay. Shift labour cost and other people’s rates stay with the manager and the owner.
02Can a rota span several venues?
Yes. The same person on shift in two venues is one labour cost, not two — without that, a group’s prime cost is overstated and nobody knows by how much.
